01 / PROCUREMENT
Build a technical brief that can be quoted
Include drawings or reference photographs, target dimensions, usable capacity, fabric construction, closure and strap layout. Identify components that must match your specification and areas where alternatives are acceptable. A precise brief makes it easier to compare quotations and see which assumptions still need a decision.
Review the product and factory evidence
Use the published product collection, workshop and company materials, and customization overview as references. Ask for order-specific details before approval.
02 / PROCUREMENT
Resolve material and component choices before sampling
Discuss PVC or TPU options, thickness, surface finish, window construction, buckles and attachment points. Ask which joining processes are appropriate for the proposed construction. If you require a particular test standard, communicate it before sample development; do not assume a process name alone proves a finished bag meets that standard.
03 / PROCUREMENT
Use sample approval as a specification checkpoint
Check dimensions and tolerances, closure operation, carrying hardware, artwork, packaging and any agreed performance test. Record revisions in one version of the specification. Ask for confirmation of how a changed material or component would be reviewed before the bulk order proceeds.
04 / PROCUREMENT
Agree production and packing requirements together
Provide the quantity per style and color, label and packaging requirements, destination and target arrival date. Discuss sample timing, production scheduling and inspection with the team. Keep the approved bag specification separate from a delivery estimate, and confirm shipping and payment terms in the quotation.
Choose the right sourcing route
| Route | Best fit | Prepare |
|---|---|---|
| OEM brief | You specify the product requirements | Dimensions, materials, components and tolerances |
| Branding on a stock model | You keep the existing bag construction | Use the custom logo route instead |
The quotation confirms the scope for your selected model and order.
Prepare an OEM brief that your buying team can approve
OEM sourcing works best when the quotation and sample refer to the same specification. Share your drawing or reference sample and identify the revision your team wants produced. If a detail is undecided, flag it for review instead of leaving the factory to infer your requirement.
Define the production specification
Include dimensions and tolerances, material construction, closure, joining method, hardware, logo files, packaging and quantities by variant. State the intended use and the test or inspection criteria your buying team needs to accept the finished product.
Confirm the commercial and approval checkpoints
Request confirmation of sample scope and cost, specification changes, production minimums, unit price, inspection responsibilities, shipment terms and scheduling assumptions. Record the approved sample and specification before bulk production. For early product development, start with our custom dry bag project page.
Send your OEM specification for review ↗OEM waterproof bag factory or ODM dry bag manufacturer?
Buyer answer: Use OEM sourcing when you have a defined specification or reference to produce. For an ODM-style project, ask DryCross to review adaptations to an existing dry bag model. Confirm which design changes are feasible, who owns the approved design and what sample work is included.
Choose the development route before requesting a price
An existing-model adaptation may involve colors, branding or selected components. A new construction can require material review, drawings and additional samples. Describe the changes together and ask the team to identify the proposed development route rather than assuming ODM means unlimited design work is included.
Small batch OEM waterproof backpack projects
For a small batch OEM waterproof backpack, send the target quantity alongside capacity, load, straps, closure and compartment requirements. Full customization typically starts from 100 pieces, subject to the model and components. A smaller first order may need an existing construction with limited changes; ask whether that route is feasible.
Buyer questions
What should I send to an OEM waterproof bag factory?
Send a specification or reference, quantities by variant, materials, components, branding, packaging, test requirements and delivery destination. Flag any unresolved details for review.
Does ODM development include design ownership?
Design ownership, exclusivity, sample work and any tooling charges must be agreed for the project. Do not assume they are included in a unit price.
